Want to know how you can support the work of faculty and students at the Manship School of Mass Communication?
With the help of generous support from alumni and friends, the Manship School and its affiliated centers can create, expand or maintain the programs, facilities, research and faculty that make it a national leader. Consider donating today!
The school’s programs embrace journalism, public relations, advertising and political communication. Our teaching, research, and public service aim to promote economic and political democracy by improving the quality of information that reaches the public.
Our undergraduates are consistently singled out for their leadership abilities on and off campus and go on to use those skills in the media industries as well as law, business, and public service.
Our doctoral program is the only one in the country focused exclusively on mass communication and public affairs. Campaign & Elections magazine describes this program as “unique in its ability to turn out professionals and scholars at the highest level.”
The Reilly Center for Media & Public Affairs harnesses the intellectual muscle of the school to convene symposia, publish books, and recruit senior fellows who seek ways to elevate political discourse. Through the Public Policy Research Lab, the school produces public opinion analysis that includes annual surveys on progress in Louisiana.

Manship School Excellence Fund Drive
Private annual funds make the difference in upgrading scholarships, enhancing computer labs and expanding library holdings. Your investment allows us to attract the nation’s most innovative scholars in media and politics as guest lecturers for conferences and seminars, pay for faculty and student travel, and support other critical areas of the school. The drive lasts from July 1 to June 30 of each year.
Endowed Chairs, Scholarships and Other Opportunities
Endowment funds have created five endowed chairs and 32 endowed professorships as well as visiting professorships, scholarships and graduate student fellowships, travel funds, computer laboratories, funds that can be used to cover specific projects, and unrestricted funds.
